All Professionals and Companies on Hospital Technology are kindly invited to join us in Spain at Barcelona City, to participate in the 20th IFHE International Congress , and XXVI Seminario de Ingeniería Hospitalaria, AEIH National Congress, to be held 19 - 23 October 2008. In 1986 the city of Barcelona hosted the 9th IFHE Congress, as many of you probably remember. 22 years later, In 2008, the Spanish Association AEIH will have the honour and responsibility at hosting the 20th IFHE Congress

It is a very high honour for me, on behalf of the IFHE Council, the AEIH Board and the Congress Organisation Team, send this invitation to the worldwide Hospital Engineering & Architecture community professionals and related Companies.

The Congress will include a large exhibition room, and a high level scientific program complemented by interesting technical visits, as well as an attractive social program. 

The attendees will improve their knowledge on hospital technology and will have the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful, modern and cosmopolitan city where to meet friends from all over the world in a very special and unique convivial atmosphere.

News will also be announced in the IFHE Web page, from where a link will give access to the 20th IFHE Web Site.

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM
TECHNICAL SESSIONS

The Information is in the base of any good design or management process.

The Scientific Committee has received until 17th of March up to 105 abstract proposals to participate in the 20th IFHE Congress, a number that overflow the capacity in time and space of the Palau de Congressos. The themes were of high interest in the field of the Hospital Engineering and Architecture, many of them based on the Information as a tool to contribute to the best efficiency in design and management of the sanitary infrastructures

The technical content of the scientific program will be of a high level
The work of the Scientific Committee has been hard to compose the technical sessions and to select those papers to be presented in them, since the themes and the level of authors and speakers were of high interest ..

Finally the Program will be presented in 14 sessions with simultaneous translation to Spanish and English in two parallel lecture rooms.
70 papers have been accepted for oral presentation from 23 different countries, 27 from Spain, 18 from Europe, 13 from Latin America, and 12 from the rest of the world
In them have participated 37 engineers, 28 architects, 3 doctors and 2 physics , according to our objectives of promoting muldisciplinary teams of people working in design, healthcare and maintenance in the sanitary field

30 proposals that did not have space in the oral sessions have been integrated in the Scientific Program as written communications, and they will be edited in the Book of Abstracts as well as in the CD of the Congress
